Oral & Dental Health
The oral and dental health of all animals, whether large or small, is important. Good preventive dental care and treatment of diseased teeth and gums can extend your pet’s life expectancy by 2-4 years. Dental tarter and the accompanying infection are not only painful but eventually lead to heart, lung and kidney disease. Most dogs and cats will continue to eat normally even if the have very painful dental disease.
During your pet’s physical exam, we will perform a dental exam. We like to say that our exams cover everything from the tip of the nose to the end of the tail. The dental health of your cat or dog will be assessed. Should you note problems at home, bring your cat or dog in to see us and we’ll take care of the problem.
Like all of our services, dental and oral checkups and treatment are tailored exclusively to the needs of your animal. They are based on the size, age, breed and health of your animal.
